Expert (n.) Someone who is insufficiently ignorant.

The more you know about a problem the harder it becomes to solve. Expertise, the search for knowledge, is often directly opposed to wisdom, the search for someone else to do the hard thinking. Most major errors are made by experts, and most elegant and long-lasting designs by wise people who are too lazy to spend hours designing yet one more doo-dah, and so get the job finished as rapidly as possible, and as solidly as possible so no-one will be calling later to interrupt that well-earned pint of cold, cold beer.
