Clickfraud
rating: 0+x

Clickfraud (v., n.) Refers both to the act of, and the person who commits the act of, dropping names and references in email, without explanation, knowing that readers will have to use Google and/or Wikipedia to understand.

The clickfraud gains a temporary superiority over his reads ("I know stuff you don't") but at the cost of extra (and wasted) clicks for his readers. See also urldumper. Clickfraud is usually a sign of insecurity. Clickfraud can be cured with humour and gentle mockery: the clickfraud (n.) will either understand and change his habits, or will find another community in which to grandstant. Aggressive and persistent clickfraud is a form of trolling, and considered offensive.
